Why suits shouldn’t go in the washing machine
A suit jacket is built with interlining and padding that holds its shape. Water and agitation make these layers shrink at different rates, which leaves bubbling on the front and collapsed shoulders. Dry cleaning avoids that, and pressing restores the lapel roll and sleeve line.
What we check before cleaning
- Stains on cuffs, collar and lapels, which are pre-treated
- Loose or missing buttons
- Lining tears and weak seams at the armholes
- Pockets — please empty them, pens leak during cleaning
How often to clean a suit
For a suit worn once or twice a week, cleaning every six to eight wears is usually enough. Between cleans, hang it on a wide shoulder hanger, brush off dust and let it air for a day. Clean straight away after a food or drink spill, because sugar-based stains darken over time. Shirts can go in the same pickup — see laundry or dry cleaning for shirts at ₹89.
