Colour-fast and not
Many kurtas and dupattas use dyes that run in the first few washes, especially deep reds, maroons and indigo. Cleaning them separately — or dry cleaning silk and embroidered ones — stops colour from transferring to the rest of the set.
Sets cleaned together
Send the kurta, bottom and dupatta of a set together. They are cleaned the same way so the colours age evenly and the set still matches next season.
Festive pieces
Kurtas with mirror work, gota patti or heavy embroidery are cleaned with extra care. For sherwanis and heavy bridal sets see wedding wear cleaning.
